Overview of position
Under the overall supervision of the Project Manager (PM) & direct supervision of the Communication Officer (CM), the successful candidate will be responsible & accountable for assisting the CM & PM on a wide range of issues associated with the implementation of the Migrant Resource & Response Mechanism (MRRM) related activities to community engagement & awareness raising in Tripoli & the field including but not limited to Zwara, Bani Waleed, Sabha & Gatroun.
Role objectives
  • Support in the organisation of community based activities that promote to the community engagement & 2 way communications between migrants & host community including organisation of community events, focus group discussions & recreational activities.
  • In coordination with the CM, disseminate the information of awareness raising activities.
  • Support in the coordination, implementation & monitoring of relevant dissemination activities in target communities, building upon a network of local & international NGO's & community leaders.
  • Support in the field activities reporting & send regular updates as requested by the supervisor.
  • Support the CM & PM in the development of partnerships with local actors including local govt. actors, embassies & other UN & I / NGOs partners working in these locations to maintain proper coordination of the activities implemented & avoid any duplication & to facilitate any referrals for support.
  • Support the MRRM Media & Communication Assistant in preparing the visibility materials & collect all the photos of relevant activities, including the interest stories & quotes from the beneficiaries & other stakeholders.
  • Promote gender mainstreaming throughout activities, addressing protection, social, environmental & other relevant cross cutting concerns.
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Project reporting
This role works under the overall supervision of the Project Manager (PM) & direct supervision of the Communication Officer (CM).
Key competenciesEducation:
- University Degree in any relevant major related to the above fields.

Experience:
- 2 years of relevant experience in the field of humanitarian assistance or community based activities.
- Experience in local AOR is an advantage.

Skills:
- Good knowledge of the broad range of migration related issues in Libya.
- Creative & solution oriented.
- Knowledge of MS office tools.
